I went to the orthopedist yesterday and she said I have rotator-cuff tendinitis with a touch of arthritis in my shoulder. She gave me a script for physical therapy and a popular pain med and sent me on my way. At least she was more thorough than the ER last week. I took one pill after I ate lunch and by the time I got home my arm felt almost 100% better. Good meds? Coincidence? A miracle? I prefer the miracle. I'll keep taking the meds, but I'm becoming a big believer in miracles!

Mark went to see Rush tonight with some of the neighbor guys. I've assumed the responsibility of one guys girls because the mom is flying and he left them home alone until he gets back. They're old enough to look after themselves, but I don't think the oldest feels comfortable staying alone that late. They'll all play outside until late anyway so it's all good. They love to play hide-and-seek after it gets dark. I was sitting on the porch last night watching all of them (there's about 10 of them) play and laugh and run and scream and remembered why we're here and not in California anymore. These kids are going to remember these nights for the rest of their lives. It's funny because I can only remember one summer night when it was warm enough to run around. I don't remember the summer nights there being as warm as they are here. Obviously there is a climate difference and we are in the south, but when you think of California you think of warmth and sunshine. If we just could get rid of the bugs that come out at night, it would be perfect.
